Capturing the Art that Surrounds Us
Jacob Long, a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, brings a keen eye to his award-winning nature and wildlife digital photography.  Long has transformed his study of biology into a self-taught, artistic appreciation for the natural world. Long is inspired to communicate the beauty of the natural world to people that may not have the opportunity to see it every day. He has a particular talent for capturing scenes that others may, at first, regard as mundane or commonplace and framing them in such a style that their true artistry shines through. His work pays homage to the ancestral lands of the Cherokee and the vast array of flora and fauna that comprise the Cherokee world. Long currently resides in Sylva, North Carolina.
